  • Problems with free contour

hi, it seems i cant import curves from a dxf file with the free contour feature??

Im making some curves in Ilustrator and export in DXF then with free contour trying to import but i get an error, doesnt tell which error, just an error.

Its weird because with the same ilustrator i make a square or even a star and export it in DXf then import it with the free contour option and it works.

It seems i cant get the curves working, anyone could help me?

  • milled surface of clear plex

Would the surface that is milled in the clear plexiglas be somewhat opaque rather than clear after the milling? Is it smooth or does it have mill "bite" marks?

  • Powder coat thickness on inside cuts

    Hi,

How much powder coat is deposited on the inside surfaces of holes or rectangles?

Say I have a rectangular cutout that is .4" X 1", what will be the actual opening size after the powder coating?

    Thanks!

    Roger

  • Rectangle in Rectangle Cavity

I am designing for material that I plan to supply. The material is ~1.8mm thick and is powder coated. In the Designer Software I have selected 2.00mm thick since it gives an error when I select 1.5mm thick.

I want to make a rectangular hole with a cavity surrounding it with a material thickness of 1.5mm. I assume the "Rectangle in Rectangle" option is the one I want to choose. However, I don't know which depth to specify. Should I select a depth of 0.5mm since I selected the 2.00mm material in the properties? or should I select a depth of 0.3mm since the actual material is 1.8mm?

  • 2-Way Radio Mounting Options

I looked at the enclosure manual; but I'm still not 100% sure what I need to do to make this work.

    See the attached image.

What I'm trying to do.. is make a face plate with a rectangle cutout that a CB radio will slide into. The radio has two holes/screws.. one on each side, midway down to secure it to the mounting bracket. Basically I need to make a piece that will attach at a 90 degree angle at the edge of the rectangle cutout on each side of where the radio will mount, to give me a place to put the screw (again, see image attached).

What all do I need to do in the front panel designer to make this work? Just put a blind hole near the cutout? What about hardware, and the actual bracket? Assume it would need to be a bent,or welded L type bracket with a hole to mount?
