3rd party fonts
Is it possible to import 3rd-party fonts into Front Design.
I am often faced with re-creating a custom or classic typefaces and although your font selection and modification tools are very good for traditional, inudstrial and award fonts, it is difficult or impossible to match more stylized commercial fonts.
I have tested many Autocad compatible (.shx) fonts in Front Design with limited success (using only single stroke character fonts), but have not attempted to manufacture a panel with them in case there was a compatibility issue.

Hello Ken,
Thank you for contacting us regarding Front Panel Designer.
This is a feature that we are looking to add to the software in a future release, but for now the process involves using Corel Draw to create the outlines of the letters, then fill them with lines to create solid letters.
We can assist you with this process for a nominal fee, just shoot us an e-mail with the font, letter size, and words that you need and we can create them for you.
Incidentally, AutoCAD will generate graphic files that can be imported into our software, but they tend to have a myriad of problems that lead to overly expensive panels and less than optimal engraving quality (except for single stroke fonts).
If you happen to have Corel Draw, we can point you in the direction of some resources to help get you started on generating these graphics on your own.

ReplyPaul,
If you have the time, please do share this process (using Corel Draw for FPD fonts).

ReplyHello Chris,
The two write-ups that are useful can be found here:
These are a good start, there is literally no good way to completely document how to handle every possible logo, as new challenges always present themselves!
