Are other fonts available such as Chalet-Tokyo?

The fonts we offer in our software are currently the only ones we have. If you want a specific font you will have to convert it into an HPGL (.plt) file. If you have any other questions or need help with conversion email us at firstname.lastname@example.org

Hi again Lawrence,
Another thing I should have mentioned is we added an option for digital printing of graphics on panels so if you can import a graphic file (ie, .jpg, .tiff, .bmp, .pdf) of your font we can print it on the panel for you instead of having it engraved.

On 5.1. I can't insert a Graphic for printing my labels. Not sure why the option is greyed out.

The insert print graphic will only work if your panel is anodized as material. It will be greyed out if your material is Perspex or Powdercoated. Let us know.
Posted By: Adrian on Jan 06, 2017 09:24PMReply
It is also grayed out if the 'Customer provided material' option is enabled, even if that material is anodized aluminium.
However, in the UV printing, Source material topic of the Online Help it states:
"UV printing can in principle be applied to any material. We only guarantee the perfect adhesion of the print on anodized aluminum however. As white is also available as a color, colored panels can also be printed. Under these conditions, it is also possible in principle to carry out UV printing on customer-supplied material."
Can you print on customer supplied anodized aluminium panels?

Does anyone know of a difference template for the Seahorse 520 case bottom.
Posted By: Donald on Dec 16, 2016 12:22AM Category: Front Panel Designer
We unfortunately do not provide templates for the Pelican cases. I would recommend you download the .dxf of the template from their site and then import that into our software using the insert free contour feature in our toolbar.

I need to get few 2D machined aluminum parts for a robotic project. All my parts for this project should be cut out of 3/16" thick aluminum sheets. I have downloaded your CAD software, but it seems it to only supports mm thicknesses. Can I use your CAD for thicknesses in inch? Does it impact my pricing? I am mostly interested in black anodized finish for my parts. Appreciate your help.

Hi Kevin. Can you send us a screenshot of the issue you are mentioning so we can see the language?

Latest FrontDesign v5.0.1
If I launch designer, open my file (or even brand new one)
then go to order > order current front panel
FrontDesign-order launches but cart is always empty

I'm having the same problem. Anyone else? Any fixes?
Posted By: Alex on Nov 30, 2016 08:52PMReply
Hi Amadeo. This has been forwarded to our developers. Can you email me your .fpd files so we can try replicating it on our end? Try saving the file off with a different name.fpd and trying again.
In the meantime just open the ordering program and click on 'add front panel to shopping cart' b***on at the top of the shopping cart tab to work around this issue.

I have the same problem. Adrian - please provide a screen shot of where the "add..." b***on is. I can't find it.

Please look at the screen shot I attached. The version of order tool in 5.0.1 doesn't look anything like the one shown in your screen shot.

Ok. Our developers are working to see why that is not coming up on a MAC. If anybody needs to place an order for a panel and cannot order thru the software email us the files and we will process the order manually for you.
Posted By: Adrian on Dec 01, 2016 08:58PMReply
Kevin. Try scrolling up to see the shopping cart. Looking at your attachment it shows you have space to scroll up.
Posted By: Adrian on Dec 01, 2016 10:44PMReply
adding manually using the "add file" b***on worked for me, once I got that you can scroll up. Thanks!
Note that the large white area in the screen shot prevents typical scroll from working, you have to move the mouse to the non-white area above or below to scroll or click and drag the scroll bar.
Also note that the screen comes up scrolled down for us mac users. Might be worth changing, from a UX perspective I would advise against hiding action / navigation b***ons, like these.
Anyway seems like this will work for now, thanks Adrian!

Here's the file as well in case it helps with debugging, but note that I did with a brand new file with blank panel.
Posted By: Amadeo on Dec 01, 2016 11:42PMReply
One last note for help with debugging, It seems that files created by front panel on mac do not have a file extension (i.e. .fpd) there is also a second file created with a .bak (assuming thats a autosave / backup?). If I manually add the file extension by renaming the file, then the whole ordering from frontdesigner works! There must be some sort of check for *.fpd file or something to populate the cart. I would tell the developers to look there for solution.
Hope that helps!
