It's been working for 3 months, but now it opens its window for a few seconds and then it's gone. Windows task manager says it's running, but nothing is visible. I've erased, restarted and reloaded four times...

Does this happen when you open FPD through a fpd file or by opening the software itself?
I am guessing you have a corrupted file. Can you send the file to me?
Posted By: DianeHaensel on Aug 20, 2013 01:47AMReply
Both. And the files open OK in another computer.

Hmmmm, I still want to rule out the actual fpd file. Would you mind sending it to me?
Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience

Another clue: At startup (PC startup; Front Panel is off), the PC says
Visual C++ runtime library
The application requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way

The files you sent to me worked fine on my system. Thank you for the additional info. I sent it to the developers and will let you know as soon as I hear back.

I have an order of 10 Identical panels that will each be labeled "panel 1", "Panel 2", "Panel 3" ect. Can I order the panels such that I only have to submit 1 design file and request that each panel be labeled 1 thru 10? Or is it best to submit 10 different design files? If they can be labeled serially, what is the best way to request this (design note, email ect.)?

One design is all you have to submit. You can leave us a note about the lettering in 'remarks for production' or during checkout.
We then will add a small modification charge (about $20 to $30) but you will also get the quantity discount of 20% (for 10 panels)
There is always the possibility to request a quote (also through checkout) to get accurate pricing with your modification.

I want to cut a 4 x 20mm slot, 3mm deep, in a 4mm thick anodized panel (which is 60 x 85mm). Into this slot I want to slide (and later bond) a 4 x 20 x135mm anodized panel, so that this thin panel will be perpendicular to the 60x85mm panel.
My question concerns the tolerances of the slot and 4mm stock thickness. I was planning on making the 4x20mm slot 4.06 x 42.0 mm (with 0 radius corners); should the 4.06mm width be sufficient for the 4mm thick stock?
Posted By: rjones on Jul 22, 2013 04:31AM Category: Production
4.06mm is a little tight. I usually recommend 0.2mm tolerance for a not to loose fit. A snug fit should have 0.1mm tolerance (in your case a slot of 4.1mm width.)
We can make sure that the parts fit. Just leave us a note in the fpd file (panel properties) or in the order program. The additional check in our QC department is complimentary.

Hi I am wondering if you will anodize a raw aluminum panel I send in for milling and engraving. If so how do I compute the charge...or can you just send me an additional bill.
Also, the raw aluminum currently has a lightly brushed finish. I don't care if the brushed aspect of it will be lost, just wanted to mention in case it can't be anodized if it's already brushed.

Unfortunately we do not have any anodizing capabilities at our shop. All our materials are pre-anodized and we can't anodized customer supplied material.
We offer in-house powder-coating as additional finish option. Maybe this is something you are interested in as well. Let me know if you would like us to send you some samples with powder-coated finishes.

Thanks Diane, sorry for the slow response.
I ended up getting the parts anodized locally. I'll be sending one of them in for machining and engraving.
I'll keep powder coating in mind for the future also,

When I try to print to 100% size on panels that require more than one sheet of paper FPE will only print the first page. It will not tile print. Sometimes it will not even show a preview and tell me zero pages required. This is recent and only started happening when I updated to the latest version.

I tried to reproduce the error you described but everything worked fine on my end. I doubt that has anything to do with the file itself rather than printer settings. However, we should rule that out first. Can you please email me the file you were trying to print? I would like to see if it works for me.
Do you have another printer in your setting you could try? A pdf printer maybe? What operating system do you use?
I am sorry for the inconvenience and hope we can resolve this issue quickly.

I've sent off the last two files I tried to print, as well a pdf of one of them. The pdf is fine.
I'm using an HP printer, OS is windows XP
