Bergues - Einbaubuchse
Is the Bergues - Einbaubuchse a standard AC Inlet? It doesn't look exactly right and I don't know how to get the dimensions of the macro object to check.

After you have dragged & dropped the macro onto your panel design, you can ungroup it and check the dimensions.
 Thanks for finding this German leftover for us. It is for an AC outlet
Here is what you need:
Once you have ungrouped the macro object, it is easy to change the size of the cutout and save it under a new macro name.

ReplyThanks bunches. I'll try that out!
Interestingly, I ran bergues through a friend who knows a bit of german and he didn't think it was a word in german. Of course when we're talking about technical jargon, vocabulary explodes everywhere.
Just as a note, it's a little bothersome that when I select an object and use the direction keys (up, down, etc), it doesn't move the object, but instead the window. Is there a way to move the objects using the keyboard along the grid?

I don't know it either and I'm German. Maybe even a typo in a leftover :? It must be a manufacturer of connectors, I'll have to check with our German office.

I just tried that in Corel Draw, a nice function. I'll add it to our improvement list.
Thank you,
Diane

Found 3 bugs
Bug #1: Your 'Search' in this forum does not work. If you click on the search icon in the upper right corner of this forum it will dump you to a blank page.
Bug #2: Where is the 8-32 tap? In the Drill Hole Properties dialog -> Thread -> UNC (Unified Coarse). The drop down list does not have a selection for #8-32. There is a selection for #8-24, which I assume is a typo as I can not find this size on any tap/drill chart.
Bug #3: Reference point of an object doesn't seem to work. Place three holes on a panel. Group all holes. Double Click the group to bring up the Group Properties dialog. Redefine the reference point of the group, either by clicking one of the corner radio buttons to the left or by selecting the reference point of an object. The 'new' reference point of the group turns red in the dialog and the 'new' cross hairs of the group reference point appear on the front panel, but you can't do anything with the 'new' group reference point.
For example, if I made the center point of one of the three holes in my group the 'new' reference point of the group and then try to align it to the horizontal and verical center of the panel, it moves the group with respect to the center point of the GROUP to the new location, instead of moving the group with respect to the center point of the referenced HOLE to the new location. It's as though the group center is ALWAYS the reference point, regardless of where the 'new' reference point is defined in the group.

Thanks for pointing this out, our content management system needs an update for this. There are also other issues with our forum. However, it will be fixed shortly.

Let me look into that.
Thank you for your bug report, it is much appreciated.

I couldn't duplicate bug #3. I followed exactly your description and was able to align to a reference of a hole in my group, not just the reference of the whole group.
I used 'Move' and entered X=0, Y=0. I also tried 'Aligning/Distributing' with both reference points and front panel selected. Both methods worked for me.
Can you please explain more in detail how you align? What operating system do you use? I don't think it has something to do with that, but I want to make sure it's ruled out.
Thank you
Diane

Unified screw thread...
Greetings!
I am laying out a panel and have chosen to use an 8-32 screw for mounting a device to it. However, there are only 8-24 and 8-36 options available in the software.
Is this a bug? My charts show no 8-24 and McMaster-Carr does not supply that thread size. If i select 8-24 threads will I end up with 8-32?
Thanks in advance,
Landon

Hello Landon,
It's a bug, we just found out yesterday. However, it is just a typo in the combo box. The pitch of .0313" is correct for a UNC 8-32.
We are sorry for the inconvenience and will have it fixed with the next update.
Thank you for pointing this out.

Hello Ted,
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your crash report.
We are planning to release version 4.01 soon (within May). It will include bug fixes reported from different operating systems.
Thanks again and let us know if you need help with old 3.5 files. We can save them in 4.0 for you so that you can work with them.

ReplyI checked with out software developer regarding the 4.0 crash. They need the 3.5 file that caused the problem for further testing.
Can you please send it to me (diane@frontpanelexpress.com)?
Thank you
Diane

My Custom Connectos are gone in the new version
I had some custom connectors I had made as templates that are no longer available. I understand the shift to seperate the included connector and user connectors but I do not see my custom connector anymore.

Hi Tim,
You can import macro object of older FPD versions by right clicking on the 'User' folder in the macro object window.
They are located in your installation folder of version 3.5 and have the extension fdm.

Bugs
Just downloaded 4.0
I noticed that:
On the main program The icon for inserting a curved slot has a help window bubble that pops up that says "Inserdt curved slot"
I had one place where the error message popped up in German. I could not replicate this error so I can give no other info.
