newb here.. so please excuse me if this question has been answered somewhere else already. I did a search and it turned up nothing.
Does this software have a ruler?. A ruler that you can stretch from one point to another and see the relative distance.
Is adding and subtracting coordinates the only way to check your work?.

There is no ruler in the current version. It is highly demanded and we will add it in the following updates.
Here is how I like to check distances:
- Place the origin on the reference location. To do so, click on the origin in the tool bar and choose one of the five snap options available in the snap tool bar. You can also use the number block of your keyboard to snap onto an edge of your front panel. 7 stands for top/left, 6 for center/right, 5 for center etc.
- Once you have the origin in the reference location click on the object you would like to know the distance to. You can read the distance (coordinates) in the object properties side window (activate in 'View')
I hope that helps until we will have a ruler available in Front Panel Designer.

Is there a way to add guidelines to a project?

When adding a curved slot from the menu, I don't see a means to fill the slot with colors like other engravings. How is that accomplished and what is the default? Thanks!

I attempted to order a panel and am getting the error messages below when I try to start the ordering program. I had just ordered some other panels a week or so ago and had no problems. It happens if I select 'order the current panel' or 'start the ordering program'. This is on a windows 7 machine and it's fpd 4.31. I tried re-booting my PC and also re-installing FPD. Any idea what the issue might be?

I found if I closed the error message window the ordering program would continue to let me add the panel and enter all of my info to order. I did get the error message pop-up about 4 more time throughout this process.
I received the confirmation email for ref #145543 so we'll see it works. I have ordered many panels in the past and have never had this problem.
also, sorry for the duplicate post. I refreshed my browser window and that made the second one.

I am sorry you are having trouble with our ordering program. Thank you very much for the detailed error description. I already created a ticket for our IT department and will let you know as soon as I hear back.
However, this shouldn't delay your project. Please email us the files you would like to order from. We can set up the order manually for you.
