Orientation for side machining
Hello. For side machining, I assume that in the side file, the upper edge always corresponds to the front surface of the panel in the main file. Therefore, for the upper side edge of the panel, the origin in the side file would be located at the upper right corner on the bottom surface in the main panel. Is this correct? Thank you.

Thank you for contacting Front Panel Express with your question.
Attached is an example showing the surfaces of a panel that will receive side machining. Your last statement 'the origin in the side file would be located at the upper right corner on the bottom surface in the main panel' is confusing.
By my design the upper right corner of the side file would be the bottom right corner of the front surface and the bottom right corner of the side panel would be the upper right corner of the bottom surface depending on how you rotate the panel.
The easiest way to prevent issues is to create a di****m of the panels showing which side is to be machined because mistakes can happen on how someone orientates the panel.
If you have any more questions concerning side machining please contact our customer service department directly. They are available from 8am to 5pm PST by phone (206) 768-0602 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to your order.
