My questions concerns macro objects.
I would like to create a temporary place holder or box around a macro object ( drill holes in this case) that represents the dimensions of the physical item that’s going to be bolted into the holes. I was thinking of using the cavity command (which I haven’t used yet) to do this. Of course I would want to delete this box before ordering. I guess I would use the ungroup command to do this since the box would be integral to the macro object.
My questions is, is their an easier way to create this placeholder or a more logical way to implement what I’m trying to do?.

A better way to do this would be using an additional layer. A design layer that is not included in machining of the part. However, we haven't implemented such a layer yet.
In the meantime you can improvise with engravings or any other objects. Please keep in mind that everything you add to your panel will be machined and any placeholders need to be removed prior to ordering.
I am sorry for the inconvenience. Your input is highly appreciated and will help us to improve our software.
