Why can't a user cannot generate a design in a vector program, such as Illustrator or Corel Draw for the cuts and import to Front Panel Designer? Some of us have fully-designed setups already in vector, so this would save a lot of time versus having to needlessly redraw them in your software.

A vector import does not bring information of the z-axis. Everything with 'depth information' as countersinks, cavities or threaded holes would not be correctly defined.
We are working on an import option in Front Panel Designer to allow more complex shapes. This will be available with the next version. We will keep you informed about the release date.
