Printing Options

Basic options can be specified for the front panel printing process. These are described here.

Processing engravings

3 options are available:

only mill engravings
in-fill engravings
print engravings

The options apply to all HPGL, text and engraving elements. Whether an engraving is to be printed or in-filled can be specified directly in each individual engraving.

Use of white ink for print elements

If available in graphics, »Front Panel Designer« can automatically detect whether certain areas in graphics files are white or transparent. Special (spot) colors do not need to be created in the templates.

If this option is selected, these areas will be respectively printed in white.

Underprint white on areas covered by ink

If this option is selected, all printed areas will be underprinted with white as a neutral color. The actual print is applied subsequently.

This is particularly important when using colored material necessary in order to ensure a large color space.

Underprint white ink on the front panel surface

If this option is selected, the entire front panel will be underprinted with white as a neutral colour. The actual print is applied subsequently.

Presentation of 'Print white' options in Front Panel Designer

The selected options are optimally displayed in Front Panel Designer. This means that the colours visible following production, consisting of a combination of 'Print white' options, colours used in the graphics and the material colour, are calculated and displayed in the view in Front Panel Designer.
